Game of Thrones, the title dedicated to Jon Snow has been unveiled

We are all waiting for it to arrive on August 22, the day on which House of the Dragon will be released , a prequel/spin-off series of Game of Thrones focused on the events of the Targaryen family and set about 200 years before the events seen in the TV series, George R. R. Martin made an important announcement. The writer, author of the Game of Thrones novels, has unveiled on his blog the working title of the new television project dedicated to Jon Snow, which will simply be called Snow.

Jon Snow is one of the main characters in Game of Thrones, as well as one of the few ever present since the first episode of the first season and remained alive until the end of the show. He was raised by Ned Stark as his son, only to be sent to the Night’s Watch, a group of isolated warriors with the aim of protecting Westeros from threats from enemies and supernatural beings. Throughout the TV series, Jon Snow will show great courage and fight several battles, including the one against brutes but not only, even going so far as to be killed. However, he is resurrected by a priestess, so that his adventures can continue. In the finale, he will briefly team up with Daenerys Targaryen, only later discovering that she is his aunt. In fact, we learn about the origins of Jon Snow, raised by Ned Stark but son of the secret relationship between Rhaegar Targaryen (Daenerys’ brother) and Lyanna Stark. Raised as Jon Snow, his real name is Aegon Targaryen and also worthy heir to the Iron Throne. Despite her love for Daenerys, seeing in her the knowledge that she doesn’t stop and wants to kill, if necessary, other innocents in order to maintain power, Jon Snow decides to stab her mortally. A gesture that saves the people but inevitably condemns them to a life in exile, because after all he is accused of high treason for killing his queen. Snow’s events, therefore, should start again from this moment, with Kit Harington in pole position to resume the role that consecrated him in the entertainment world. It is also not to be ruled out the presence of other characters such as Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Tyrion (Peter Dinklage), among the few survivors in Game of Thrones. Fascinating, but absolutely to be confirmed, the theory that Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) would like back to life, something that would not be entirely unexpected since Jon Snow himself has resurrected.

Writer George R. R. Martin revealed that the idea of a sequel centered on Jon Snow was the actor who played him, Kit Harington. These are the words of the author of the Game of Thrones novels: “It was he who proposed the idea to us. I can’t tell you the names of the writers and showrunners because I don’t have permission. I can tell you, though, that they too were chosen by Kit and are formidable.”
