Of all the movies coming out (in America) in the summer of 2023, Barbie is kind of the mysterious object. Directed by the darling of independent cinema (and beyond) Greta Gerwig, the film that brings Mattel toys to real cinemas, with Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken, arouses a lot of curiosity. Even more so after the reactions on the internet of fans in seeing the first photo of Gosling in the “cloths” of the blond and gymnastic doll.
So here he is, the protagonist of Drive and La La Land, turned into a flesh-and-blood doll. Hollywood Reporter quotes a quote attributed to Ryan Gosling: “All my characters are me. I’m not an actor good enough to become a character.” So that there is also a bit of Ken inside him?
