Following the capsule collection of vintage clothing and the cooperation with Levi’s, Miu Miu now introduces Upcycled, a concept that combines sustainability, vintage, and coolness. Miu Miu is committed to making the fashion business more environmentally friendly. The Milanese company chose to repurpose and personalize a limited edition of leather jackets, revealed as a preview during the fall/winter 2022 fashion show, with its characteristic feminine touch in support of a circular fashion model that is built on recycling and reusing materials.
These pieces, which have historically been associated with menswear and rebellious youth, were expertly reworked and remodeled by the Miu Miu atelier team and enhanced with unexpected, adorable, and priceless details like 1920s-inspired collars in contrasting materials, stylized flowers, priceless crystals, python-printed leather, and satin ribbon edges that make each jacket special by integrating it perfectly into the aesthetic (which has always loved to play with dichotomies).
The campaign, which was styled and photographed by Lotta Volkova under the creative guidance of Lina Kutsovskaya in true Motomami manner, aims to dispel the widespread misconception that a leather jacket is a staple of men’s design. Actresses and models Esther McGregor, Ever Anderson, and Mame Bineta Sane can be seen sporting the brand-new Miu Miu clothing as they pass by vintage motorcycles, glittering metal, ink-black rubber, and an unmarked urban underpass.
Only a few Miu Miu boutiques, will sell the Upcycled collection jackets, which will only be made in 50 pieces total.
