A dream named Capri. This vision appears to have inspired Simone Porte Jacquemus, who selected the gem of Campania for his latest ‘La Casa’ fashion show, held this afternoon. Casa Malaparte, a striking venue perched high above the sea with a stunning panoramic view, served as the perfect backdrop. This location, famed for its appearance in Godard’s film ‘Le Mepris’ with Brigitte Bardot, added to the allure. The show marks the celebration of Jacquemus’s 15-year career, highlighting his youthful yet accomplished journey.
Jacquemus’s distinct Parisian aesthetic was evident throughout the show, set to the tunes of Dalida’s “Histoire d’un amour.” The collection featured the minimalist and geometric designs that define his work: structured slip dresses, voluminous shapes, and a nuanced sensuality that occasionally ventures into bold cut-outs. There were clear nods to the 1960s Caprese Dolce Vita, exemplified by headscarves. The color palette ranged from bold blocks of red, ochre yellow, and sky blue to zebra patterns and nautical white and blue stripes. Outerwear played a significant role, with men sporting oversized bermuda shorts and moccasins, while women showcased midi skirts paired with double-heeled sandals, a look revisited from previous collections. The bags were a standout feature, varying from oversized Doctor bags to medium-sized clutches.
The show drew numerous celebrities, who reached the stunning venue first by boat and then via a long staircase. Attendees included Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow, shielding herself from the sun with an umbrella, and Jacquemus’s friend, singer Dua Lipa, along with Giancarlo Giammetti. Other notable attendees were Laetitia Casta, model Tina Kunakey and her close friend, French actress Adele Exarchopoulos, DJ Peggy Gou, model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, actors Arón Piper and Manu Rios, and Italian singer Elodie. On the runway, Deva Cassel, supermodel Mariacarla Boscono, and Blackpink singer Jennie graced the show, adding to its star-studded appeal.
