Along with designs from Bottega Veneta, Valentino, and a sea of pink
Since Greta Gerwig agreed to pen the script and subsequently direct in 2019, there has been a lot of excitement about Barbie in live-action. Barbiecore fever is on the rise, engulfing us all in a pink cloud that seems unstoppable and infecting both the fashion and design worlds (have you seen the Dream House set up for the movie?). It is brought on by every new image, indiscretion, backstage footage, or trailer, from the paparazzi on set of Margot Robbie in spandex and rollerblades to Ryan Gosling as Ken. The fad is gathering more and more supporters as the day of the movie’s release in theaters, July 21, draws near. Firstly, Margot Robbie and the rest of the actors, who are now on a publicity tour for the film.
The actress appears to have temporarily set aside her work as a Chanel spokesperson in order to dress in items that are also in Barbie’s wardrobe and, in keeping with method acting, thoroughly inhabit the character. The evidence? On the guidance of her stylist Andrew Mukamal, Margot is sporting a variety of adorable, all-pink clothes that are modeled by the well-known Mattel doll.

Pierpaolo Piccioli created it specifically for the model, pairing a dress from the 2015 Barbie Pink and Fabulous line with a model from the Italian fashion house’s SS1993 collection. Andrew Mukamal’s chosen accessories, including a yellow shoulder strap by Valentino, a pair of white shoes by Manolo Blahnik, and a pearl bracelet by Assael, were also inspired by this look. The actual component that shouts “Barbie” the pink Corvette that Margot was driving!
The Australian actress currently sports another dress by Bottega Veneta that is reminiscent of a Barbie doll. It’s a twinset made up of a fitted silk mélange balconette top and pleated skirt that are accessorized with a Cabat bag and a pair of Manolo Blahnik mules. Everything is the same soft pastel pink color as her previous Corvette, down to the oval sunglasses in that color. Which of Margot Robbie’s looks did you like most for the Barbie press tour?
