For individuals who are incapable of making decisions
The most anticipated movies of the year, Barbie and Oppenheimer, will be released on the same day, July 21, which is unusual. The release date of Oppenheimer coincides with Barbie, and there are speculations that this is not a coincidence. Instead, Warner, which produced Barbie and all of Nolan’s other movies, did it as a “middle finger” to the British director who broke off their joint project. A t-shirt made by Twitter user @NotoraEnt by fusing the bottom halves of a gray Oppenheimer t-shirt and a pink Barbie t-shirt brings together two cinematic souls that cannot be reconciled. More than six million people have viewed the original message on Twitter.
As soon as the T-shirt was on sale for $33 on the website Viral Style, it generated excitement among followers of both movies and quickly went viral. Will it occur like it did during the release of the Minions movie, when many viewers arrived at the theater dressed in suits only to record themselves and share the meme? Perhaps, but it’s also possible to argue that the startling contrast between Barbie’s rosy fantasy world and Oppenheimer’s grave reflections perfectly represents the spirit of our times.
